Q.
Do I really need mold inspection software?
A. Only if you want to decrease your time-per-job, increase your
efficiency and improve your presentation to your clients and your
competitors. If you like doing things the hard way and using more
of your time and energy while doing it, then MoldTech® probably
isn't for you.

Q.
Why should I choose MoldTech®?
A. MoldTech® is the industry’s best-selling mold inspection
software. MoldTech® was developed over two years by a team of
professional mold inspectors, information designers, systems analysts,
graphic designers, attorneys (to review report text,) and programmers
working together to create a product that is logical, easy-to-use,
customizable and powerful. MoldTech® sets the standard for all
other mold inspection software products.

Q.
I could build an Access database myself, why should I buy MoldTech®?
A. You might have the skills to build your own car, too, but do
you want to drive a jalopy or a Mercedes-Benz? MoldTech® is
not an Access database. It was not built in someone's spare time
between mold inspections. It is a full-featured software application
that includes a fully developed PDA application module and a substantial
report generator module for your PC. MoldTech® represents a
tremendous investment in both time and money. A team of sixteen
software professionals, information developers, graphic designers,
engineers, attorneys (to review report text,) and mold inspection
professionals worked for almost two years to create a powerful,
logical, useful software package for the mold inspection industry.
Back
Q.
How long will it take me to learn to use MoldTech®?
A. MoldTech® is designed to be both logical, intuitive and self-instructive.
Most people with minimal computer experience learn to use MoldTech®
in a under an hour.
Back
Q.
I'm not very comfortable with computers will learning to use MoldTech®
drive me crazy?
A. Most software for small industries is designed by programmers
who think everyone understands computers the way they do. MoldTech®
was programmed by programmers, but it was designed by experienced,
professional information designers who study how people think, work
and learn. MoldTech® is designed to put a tremendous amount
of power at your fingertips in a way that is easy-to-learn and comfortable-to-use.
The screens are uncluttered, large enough to read and are very,
very intuitive. Unlike so many software applications, MoldTech®
makes sense. We have never had a user who didn't begin feeling comfortable
using MoldTech® by the time they were finished with the first
tutorial in the User Manual.

Q.
What equipment do I need to use MoldTech® and how much will
it cost?
A. The only requirements are a PDA and a PC. The PDA (Personal Digital
Assistant or handheld computer) must be a PocketPC Handheld PDA
(such as the Dell Axim X30) running Windows Mobile (First or Second
Edition) PocketPC OS. The PDA should be at least 280MHz and have
at least 32mb of RAM/ROM. A PDA is mandatory to use MoldTech®.
Note: MoldTech® is not currently compatible with the Palm OS.
You also need a Windows XP desktop or laptop computer
of at least 1.7 GHz, with a minimum 256 RAM and 50MB of hard drive
space available.
There’s no need to buy a PDA that costs more than $250 (the
Dell Axim X30 is $199) and you can find deals on PC computers for
less than $500. Also, if you want to include photos in your reports,
we recommend at least a 2 megapixel digital camera (but anything
over 3 megapixels is overkill) or you can use a film camera and
scan the photos or have the photos printed onto CD. So, if you currently
don't have anything (or everything you have is really old and not
up to the job) you can get all of the equipment you'll need for
around $1000.

Q.
I have a slower, older computer. Why can't I use that?
A. A faster computer is more a requirement of the PDA than of MoldTech®.
Our software will run just fine on a slower computer. The PDA, which
normally takes a few seconds to upload to the PC, could take ten
minutes or more, if it uploads at all on an machine under 1.7 Ghz.
If you consider you computer a business asset (which you should),
then you should be using one that is suited to the tasks of running
your mold inspection business. Just a few inspections with the MoldTech®
system will pay Back the cost of both the software
and any equipment upgrades you make.
