The Professional Insurance Agents Western Alliance adopts a new initiative supporting the use of MoldTech® Software by Mold Inspectors

Included in this initiative, which guides the decisions of thousands of insurance industry professionals in the United States, is the recommendation that:

• Mold inspections be conducted before the issuance of any home insurance policy
• Mold inspections be conducted after the completion of construction on all new home development
• Mold inspections be conducted to ensure the successful remediation of any water intrusion or mold claims
• Mold inspections be utilized as a tool to review homes with past moisture and water intrusion problems.

As a part of this initiative, the PIA advises its members to use only mold inspectors who have successfully completed the 2-Day Certified MoldTech® Inspector & Moisture Management Assessor Course and who use MoldTech® Software to manage the inspections and generate the reports.

To support their membership in locating and utilizing qualified inspectors, a database of inspectors who successfully complete the course will be made available to PIA members.

Even with mold waivers, the insurance industry has been the hardest hit of any single industry in this country in regard to mold and water intrusion claims. The PIA estimates that adherence to this new initiative by insurance industry professionals will reduce claims on mold-related claims by one billion dollars in the first year alone!

The insurance industry is serious about reducing mold claims. That's why they've embraced the proven MoldTech® technology and training. Currently, the list of MoldTech® users who have successfully completed the Certified MoldTech® Training is short, but it won't be for long. The inspectors on this list are on the ground floor.
