5 Easy steps to Re-installing or upgrading MoldTech on your PC and PDA

Situation:
The initial installation of MoldTech® did not complete, and you need to Re-install MoldTech®
- OR -
You need to upgrade MoldTech from an earlier version that is already installed on your PC.

Solution:
Follow the steps below to Re-install MoldTech®

Do not un-install or delete your existing MoldTech application before upgrading or re-installing. If you do, you will need to license your application again, and you will lose your client data and archived report information.

NOTE: Pay particular attention to steps 4 and 5 below if you have previously installed Mozilla on your PC.
  1. Prepare for installation:

    From your Windows® Start menu in Windows XP,
    choose All Programs
    Choose the MoldTech folder then click the red checkmark MoldTech Stop Application icon

  2. Install ActiveSync

    Confirm that ActiveSync is installed on your computer. If it is not installed, do so now.

    Close MoldTech on your PDA and connect your PDA to your PC.

  3. Install MoldTech on your PC & PDA

    Insert the MoldTech CD-ROM into your computer. Follow the prompts as they appear.

  4. If you are re-installing MoldTech to the same folder location as the first time you installed MoldTech (which is recommended), you will get this prompt below.



    If you currently have Surveys in your PC Report Generator, Re-Installing MoldTech will NOT remove any of your survey data form your PC. You can answer 'Yes' to this prompt.

  5. If you receive the File Version Conflict window below stating "The version of the file being copied is older, than the existing one on your computer", click "No to all" in order to overwrite the files on your computer with the files from the CD.



  6. Do not change any other settings. If asked if you are sure about a setting choose Yes. Stop when you see the Mozilla Setup screen below.

  7. Cancel Mozilla Installation.
    (Follow this step only if MoldTech® has already been previously installed on your PC, whether or not you completed the licensing process or not.)




    When the Mozilla installer screen appears, choose CANCEL.

    A window will then appear stating, "Setup is not Complete...Are you sure you want to cancel Setup?". Choose YES.

  8. Unlock ModlTech® on your PC & PDA

    When the MoldTech installation is completed, click the Finish. After the MoldTech® install window closes, double-click the MoldTech icon (green checkmark) on your desktop to launch MoldTech.

    If MoldTech® is properly registered to your PC it will open to the empty Survey List. Disconnect your PDA from your PC for five seconds. Shortly after you re-connect it you should see a window that says MoldTech Sync completed successfully!. You may begin using MoldTech now.

    If MoldTech® requires completion of the registration process, it will open to the Request License screen. Complete the information required and follow the instructions on the screen. You must be online to complete this step.

    After you receive the MoldTech Successfully Licensed window, disconnect your PDA from your computer for five seconds. When you re-connect it, your PDA will be updated with your MoldTech license information. After you receive the MoldTech Sync completed successfully! window on your PC you may begin using MoldTech®.
